La Brava

While at a glance, the costume didn't look difficult, getting La Brava's odd proportions were pretty tricky.

I started with a bodysuit base in dark blue spandex. I made the buttons with button covers and sewed them on. The bow tie is attached via snaps.

The pants are suiting that were heavily interfaced to keep the wide structure. The heart applique was done with the same blue as the leotard and the same vinyl as the buttons. Both are satin stitched on. There are also pockets in the pants with a working zipper up the back.

The waist cincher is real leather and steel boned. It's lined with heavy canvas and cotton. It laces together in the back.

Shoes are covered with the same blue spandex. The gloves were also made with soft lycra.
